Labour Digital Infrastructure Paper

We want Britain to be the world’s leading digital economy – and that means we need world-leading digital infrastructure. Providing the UK with the widest possible access to the fastest possible broadband – at home, at work and on the move – must be a critical national infrastructure priority. With the speed of online traffic critical to our service economy, roaming speeds need to be as high on our infrastructure agenda as railways. Failure to take the issue of digital infrastructure seriously puts the UK at risk of becoming an analogue also-ran in a digital race. To place at the top of the leaderboard, we need a network that is the envy of the world – a digital equivalent of HS2.
