High Speed Rail Bridge Consultation

Important information about new High Speed (HS2) bridges at Saltley viaduct and the Aston Church Road  I need your help putting forward views about two new bridges being built for HS2 at Saltley Viaduct and the Aston Church Road, as they will cut road links for a year, beginning in mid-2022.   Ultimately the new High Speed 2 rail line is a game changer for our area. A train journey to Manchester will take just 41 minutes and a trip to London will take 45 minutes. This is expected to create jobs, jobs, jobs: thousands of new jobs around the new station at Birmingham International – and thousands more in the city centre – plus up to 3,600 jobs at the new business park I’ve fought for at the old LDV-Alstom site. However, building the line will cause disruption not least because the bridges at Saltley Viaduct and Aston Church Road have to be raised. A lot of work has already gone into replacement plans and timing of the construction. You can fill in the consultation survey online by going to https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/HS2-Saltley-KDE/

Or if you don’t have the internet call the freephone number on 08081 434 434. Don’t forget to check out the new HS2 Jobs Board https://www.hs2.org.uk/supply-chain-jobs I’ve battled hard over five years in Parliament to make sure HS2 works for us. This is a big bit of new infrastructure for us and I’m anxious we get it right. So please make sure you have your say.
