Press Release: Funders Fair 28th February

News From Liam Byrne MP Immediate Release Liam Byrne and Big Lottery team up for Hodge Hill Funders Fair on 28 February 2014. Liam Byrne MP and the Big Lottery have teamed up once again to deliver this year’s Hodge Hill Funders’ Fair for local groups seeking to raise much needed cash. The conference, held regularly over the last eight years, brings a host of funding organisations together with local groups to make connections, deliver advice on writing successful bids and to meet like-minded organisations. Twenty five different funding organisations have been invited – and attendees will include the Big Lottery Fund, and Social Finance. Over the last five years, the supply of ‘social finance’ into Hodge Hill has been transformed by, for example, the £1 million BIG Local fund for the Bromford and Firs, and the Heritage Lottery Fund/ Veolia deal for the new St Margaret’s Church and community centre in Ward End. Theconference will include:

  • Writing successful bids

  • Funders Marketplace where you can meet and mingle with funders

  • Workshops with funders on hot topics

Liam Byrne said: “These funders’ fair make it dead easy for local groups to meet the people with the cheque-books who want to help our community, but often find it hard to know how to reach us. These conferences are great at letting us in on the top tips for writing bids – these have proved a gold-mine local worthy causes. “We’re brought literally millions into Hodge Hill over the last five years – but I want millions more and that’s why this conference is so important. We’re really grateful to the Big Lottery for once again being with us to provide advice to local residents’.
