Providing personal assistance to constituents is at the core of our service to the residents of Hodge Hill. Over the years, we have helped tens of thousands of constituents with advice and help - and our small team of caseworkers has, between them, over 35 years of experience.
We now have an opportunity open to join the team based at our office at the Fox and Goose in Hodge Hill - and we’re looking for someone who wants to join us for the long term, starting as soon as possible.

Caseworker Job description - Key responsibilities:

Deal with large numbers of standard queries from constituents, as well as assisting on more complex cases from members of the public by phone, email, social media or face to face. Ongoing communication may be required

Log all cases and data entry; monitor progress and ensure all identified actions are taken

Liaise with Local and Government departments

Draft responses to constituents

Managing and progressing workload independently

Ensure records are kept and information managed confidentially in line with the data protection legislation

Ensure that each case is dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially and accurately in accordance with the MP
-
Assist member at surgeries and other meetings and follow up as appropriate

Attend constituency meetings as appropriate

Critically analyse patterns of enquiries and articulate the findings in reports and communication with the MP and other staff members

Follow up on social media case queries and comments

Gather relevant information to assist with resolving cases

Manage and monitor social media enquiries, dealing with cases that do not need to be transferred to a higher level.

Ensure all enquiries are dealt with in a timely manner

Assisting with members diary when required

Assisting with general office support and administration

Retain records and information confidentially and in line with the Data Protection Act

Basic knowledge in immigration, local government, benefits desirable but not required

There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of the normal working hours and travel for work occasionally
Skills required:
· Previous experience of casework (not essential)
· Ability to manage a wide range of written and telephone enquiries.
· Ability to manage and prioritise tasks under pressure.
· Strong written and verbal communication.
· Experience of working in a public-facing role.
· Excellent time management skills and commitment to efficiency.
