Today, I voted against the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill. The purpose of this letter is to set out for you exactly why. I know how deeply and personally people feel about this issue. I am truly grateful to everyone who has written to me; both those who supported the Bill and those who urged me to oppose it. I also recognise the compassion and sincerity of Lauren Edwards, who brought the Bill before the House, and Kim Leadbeater, whose earlier Bill began this parliamentary debate....

In June I wrote to the Foreign Secretary about Pakistan-administered Kashmir. This week I got a reply from the Minister, Stephen Doughty. The Government says it is "seriously concerned" and following developments closely. But for families here who are still unable to contact relatives, that is not yet an answer. I'll keep pushing until there is one.

Auckland Hall in Smith's Wood is the kind of building whole neighbourhoods depend on butt too often it is the kind of building that ends up being boarded up when a council can't afford to run it anymore. But, the amazing Cars Area Together wouldn't let that happen. I supported Cars Area Together as they successfully secured this asset transfer - the first of its kind for Solihull Council. That means this hall now belongs to the community that actually uses it. Not owned by a committee...
